Grimsby 7  v  5 Herne Bay

Despite the recent walkout by a number of  under 20 players, Herne Bay Premier Team competed in a close match against one of the top teams in the league.

Issues over coaching and management resulted in  three veteran players having to be  drafted into the team to travel away to Grimsby. Our previous away result was a loss of 12-0. Everyone  was determined to pull together and implement a team performance to avoid a similar result to last time. The Bay were always in the game and had chances to reverse the result. Peter Halvorsen reported that it was a good game to play in and although we lost there was a good spirit in the team.

Having played the top 4 teams from last year, the Bay are still without a win in the league this year, but all the result are considerably better than last season. With continued team training, better fitness, confidence and real belief, the team can reverse some of these results in future games.
